Flower

Midnight Blue rose is a little gem, particularly for cooler climates. After two years in the ground here, it is 3 1/2 feet tall and loaded with clusters of deep purple blooms. In the heat of summer, the grape-purple fades to a more ordinary reddish purple, but in fall it will again give its unique, rich color to its corner of the garden.
Because the color is so dark, the blooms disappear into the shadows. Only when walking right near it does the startling color grab the eye. That makes it a very special little joy, to wander by and newly discover this little jewel hiding behind a bigger, more showy rose.
